Antennas

Sometimes you may want to add an antenna to your model, apart from using the obvious photo-etched antennas available there are several other possibilities (all gathered from the 87thScale.info messageboard).

Not so obvious....   (tip from Eric / Sylvain)

- Cats whiskers ! (No need to cut them off, don't worry. They fall off every now and then, you just need to find them)

More commonly known (tips from Chester / Albert)

- a bristle from an old paint brush.
- one of my own hairs
- bristle from a soft tooth brush

Other materials (tips from Skunk / Chester)

- the extremely fine copper wire found inside the tiny fuses on the boards inside TV's and VCR's
- wire from old vacuum tubes (really small and hard to handle)

Found by accident....  (tip from Chester)

- Quite by accident, I found another way to fabricate small antenae. I laid a hot glue gun on the workbench and it dripped onto the bench. When I pulled it away, the long thin strands hardened immediately into a terrific thin strand. Note: the slower you pull it away from the contact point, the thicker the strands.
