-Made by Takara Co., Japan.

A series of six 1/80 scale ready-made plastic carmodels made after Japanese prototypes. All models were available in two versions, either with or without 'pull-back' action. Apart from that, the models have been available in normal, two-tone and metallic colours. Also, the metallic versions had additional prints on them. All models have plastic rims with rubber tires.

The versions with 'pull-back' action were individually packed in giftboxes, just like the one pictured here. For a closer look at one of the Japanese license plates, click here. (use your browsers back-button to return here)

The models were first introduced in Germany in 1983, and were imported by Model International. The first advertisement for these six models is can be found here. (Use your browsers back-button to return here)

The following models have been issued in 1982:

MC-01 Datsun 280Z / Fairlady
MC-02 Datsun Skyline 2000
MC-03 Isuzu Piazza XE
MC-04 Mazda RX7 / Savannah
MC-05 Toyota Celica 2800 GT
MC-06 Toyota Soarer 2800

In 2003, Takara issued a model of a Hino-Renault 4CV which was used as a give-away with a pack of soap. A copy of the leaflet with all the give-aways can be seen by clicking here. (use your browsers back-button to return here)

Thanks to Wolfgang Verbeek we are able to show you another version of the Hino-Renault plus a copy of another leaflet (use your browsers back-button to return here)
